Welcome to the first posting of the Chong’s family blog. We are extremely excited to share with you our new journey with God.

Many of you must be wondering where are we shipping our boxes again since we have only been in Hong Kong for just over two years. The answer is we are moving to Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia as full time missionary.
The idea of leaving our family, job, and comfort to follow God's calling is certainly unimaginable in many people's mind. In an evening around Thanksgiving 2012, while discussing about what God had done for us in the past year and our future plan, we realized God has put the same burden in both of our hearts. God urges us to "step out" and serve Him in Cambodia.

Although when Jesus sent the twelve apostles to mission in Matthew 10, Jesus said in verse 10, no bag for your journey, nor two tunics nor sandals nor a staff, for the laborer deserves his food. We did try to pack light, sell many of our belongings and bring only essentials =). We finally get it down to 40 boxes for the four of us, and certainly many of them are for the kids and toys & books for the center.
Boxes have been shipped; Apartment lease has been terminated. Air tickets have been purchased. We are now living with a couple of suitcases in Thomas' parent's home and will be leaving Hong Kong to Phnom Penh in about 5 weeks (2nd week of May 2013).
In the next postings, we will tell you about what we are going to do in Cambodia and how God has called us and prepared us for this journey.
We pray that God will use this blog to keep you up-to-date of our work in Cambodia and our family status in this foreign land. We also pray that you can be our PARTNER and together we serve Him by being our "sender" --- support us through financial giving, prayers, and communications, short/long term mission.
