#55 - The True Meaning of Christmas

“True Meaning of Christmas” has been our focus with the students in the past 4 weeks.  It is amazed how commercialism have penetrate this country in the past 2 years.   Christmas has become more and more westernized here in Cambodia.  Instead of celebrating our Lord Jesus Christ entering into this world as a human baby, we can only see Christmas Tree and Santa in the shops and malls.

Currently, we have 35 students and about half of them are new to our dorm so it is a great opportunity for us to study the Christmas story from the very beginning (Genesis).  We also studied some of the prophecies in the Old Testament and how God show His Might by giving us detail of Jesus’ birth and his lives hundreds to thousands years before Jesus’ birth.  This is the first time many of our students learned and read these prophecies in the Old Testament.

Last week was our annual Christmas Outreach -- our students brought their friends to this special Sunday worship.  We have almost 60 people jammed into our dorm.   We focus the message on how SIN has separated us from God and Jesus is the Saviour that God had promised us.  And how Jesus is obedient to God and even willing to die for us on the cross.  The best way to celebrate Christmas is to “pick up your cross and follow Him”.  We pray that this Christmas message will be planted in their hearts and God will use it to open their hearts and allow them to know Him one day.

After the service, the students had prepared a special Khmer noodle dish (kind of like cold thin rice noodle with some fish sauce) for their friends!   It was a very hectic day but there’s really nothing more satisfying than sharing the Gospel to people who have not know Christ and preaching His Word to young believers and encourage them to Follow Jesus.

We will be in HK for one week but due to our travel schedule we will not be able attend our church Sunday service and we probably won’t be able to meet any of you due to several visiting family members from different parts of the world.   We are so sorry that we will miss you.  We really want to say Thank You to all of your prayer and financial support, without you we are not able to serve Him here in Cambodia.  You are our partners and all the work you see in these photos is the product of our partnership!

We wish you all have a wonderful

~ ~ ~ Merry Christmas!!! ~ ~ ~

#54 - Serving Together!

It has been a wonderful and fruitful 2 weeks in November.

We are very thankful for Andy and Peter, who traveled from Australia and spent their 2 weeks of holidays in Cambodia to serve at our dormitory.   They had classes with the students every afternoon and evening teaching them what the Bible said about relationships, music and work!  We also had a BBQ with the students on one of the Sundays' afternoon!

Thank you Andy and Peter for their serving heart, time & effort!  Most importantly, we can all serve together for God's glory!

If you are interested to come and serve with us in Cambodia or help us from overseas!  Just drop us a line!

#53 - Urgent Needs with 31 Students in our Program now!

Gryphon & Joelle giving out the sermon/bible note
We need your financial supports and your prayers as the number of students has DOUBLED and the financial burden for the program also doubled!  Many new students arrived after the big holiday last week and we have a total of 31 students as of today!
  • Program Support for 2 dormitories (newly rented in mid-Sept 2015 to separate boys and girls)   -- Monthly pledges or one-time support is needed!
  • Scholarship Support --- There are a few more students in need for scholarship so we are looking for supporters for "Half Scholarship US$110/month.

For the last 2 weeks, more and more new students arrived and joined our Discipleship & Dormitory Program.   We are still trying to meet with those who just arrived but each of them have their struggles and needs.  One of the girls is an orphan who was raised by her grandfather; One of the boys' father just passed away last month because of sickness and he worries about his mum being along in the hometown.  The students have a more diverse interest this year, some are hoping to study in Nursing, Pharmacy, Environmental Management, IT, English, Business Law and Business.......

We have at least 10 students who are looking for financial supports for their school fees and living expenses

Please consider to partner with us
to nurture these young people and
to help them to study and live in a God loving facility!

We would like to share more photos with you from our worship, fellowship, and nightly classes for the last 2 weeks.
