Arrival week (7 May 2013 to 14 May 2013)
We are so happy to tell you all that we have arrived Cambodia for 1 week already! It was quite a challenge to travel to Phnom Penh, Cambodia last week. While we are scrabbling to finish packing, Thomas caught a flu 2 days before we scheduled to leave HK and then Gryphon, and Joelle both caught the flu and had a fever on the day we travelled.
We were sent off by our parents and Pastor Billy Campbell at the HK airport and were able to board the plane. And as soon as we landed in Phnom Penh, we were welcomed by Mrs. Jeanne Campbell, Mr. Yi Narith, our local partner, and Dr. Tom and Anna’s family (American missionary doctor and currently Pastor of International Baptist Church of Phnom Penh).
Although it’s only been 7 days, we have a long list of praises for our Lord:
- Gryphon and Joelle has been admitted to their new school starting in August and possibly joining their summer program in June.
- recovery from persistent fever and flu for Thomas & Gryphon
- warm welcome by Mrs Campbell (Jeanne), Mr Yi, and Dr Tom and Anna and their 4 Khmer children
- met the local team and had good fellowship and discussion
- further discussion with Mrs Campbell about her vision of the work
- received help from the local team to and from grocery stores.
Please pray for us:
- to look for suitable site for the new center in Phnom Penh
- to work with the local team in searching for new site
- to find a suitable vehicle for transportation
- get to know the area and roads in Phnom Penh
- worked with worship team at International Baptist Church in Phnom Penh
