#55 - The True Meaning of Christmas

“True Meaning of Christmas” has been our focus with the students in the past 4 weeks.  It is amazed how commercialism have penetrate this country in the past 2 years.   Christmas has become more and more westernized here in Cambodia.  Instead of celebrating our Lord Jesus Christ entering into this world as a human baby, we can only see Christmas Tree and Santa in the shops and malls.

Currently, we have 35 students and about half of them are new to our dorm so it is a great opportunity for us to study the Christmas story from the very beginning (Genesis).  We also studied some of the prophecies in the Old Testament and how God show His Might by giving us detail of Jesus’ birth and his lives hundreds to thousands years before Jesus’ birth.  This is the first time many of our students learned and read these prophecies in the Old Testament.

Last week was our annual Christmas Outreach -- our students brought their friends to this special Sunday worship.  We have almost 60 people jammed into our dorm.   We focus the message on how SIN has separated us from God and Jesus is the Saviour that God had promised us.  And how Jesus is obedient to God and even willing to die for us on the cross.  The best way to celebrate Christmas is to “pick up your cross and follow Him”.  We pray that this Christmas message will be planted in their hearts and God will use it to open their hearts and allow them to know Him one day.

After the service, the students had prepared a special Khmer noodle dish (kind of like cold thin rice noodle with some fish sauce) for their friends!   It was a very hectic day but there’s really nothing more satisfying than sharing the Gospel to people who have not know Christ and preaching His Word to young believers and encourage them to Follow Jesus.

We will be in HK for one week but due to our travel schedule we will not be able attend our church Sunday service and we probably won’t be able to meet any of you due to several visiting family members from different parts of the world.   We are so sorry that we will miss you.  We really want to say Thank You to all of your prayer and financial support, without you we are not able to serve Him here in Cambodia.  You are our partners and all the work you see in these photos is the product of our partnership!

We wish you all have a wonderful

~ ~ ~ Merry Christmas!!! ~ ~ ~
